8:50PM: Both of these teams had great 2nd half comebacks on Saturday. Florida outscored Auburn by 14 and Houston had an all time comeback holding Duke to 1 made field goal in the final 10 minutes of the game including being down 6 with 30 seconds to go. Houston has such a great defense, they play physical and make you earn every bucket. Florida is on an incredible run, winning the SEC tournament and winning 5 straight to get to this championship game with multiple comebacks in this stretch. Walter Clayton is on a Kemba Walker type run in this tournament, back to back 30 point games. Even though both teams had comebacks, Houston’s took way more energy to do being down 17 at one point in the 2nd half. I typically like to fade teams on short rest with a game like that. Florida made great 2nd half adjustments coming right out of halftime. This game is going to be great tonight so enjoy it.

8:49PM: This is going to be a hard fought battle of a game tonight. Tough defense on both ends and by the total of 136.5 it seems like this is going to be low scoring game. Low scoring and Houston can keep it close, Houston is the play.

7:09PM: Two really good teams in the matchup straight up and against the spread. Both teams can run, shoot the 3 and score some points. Even with the teams matching up very well against each other, it seems like BYU is the better shooting team. In both the first and second round, they couldn’t miss. Wisconsin would make a run and BYU would shut it down with a 3 of their own. I think BYU stays hot and keeps up with Bama tonight to set up an Elite 8 matchup with presumably Duke.

2:40PM: St. John’s has one of the best defenses in the country. In the first round Arkansas got off to a hot start in first half, scoring almost 50 points. Then Kansas implemented a zone defense where Arkansas struggled. It’s also a matchup of Pitino vs Calipari. Pitino has a losing record against Calipari 10-13 overall but they do own a record together. They have both brought 3 different programs to a final four. What a great time to one up Calipari and beat him along the way.

7:10PM: Troy is not the best scoring team but they can above 80. They’re mid level in terms of efficiency and have a slower tempo. Kentucky on the other hand is top 10 offense and top 25 in tempo. However, their defense is not great and can let up some points to a good offense. I’m thinking they can score in the 80s and Troy will be in the upper 60s low 70s.
