Purdue/High Point over 154.5 (-110)

12:40PM: Both teams play at a slower tempo but both rank in the top 25 in offensive rating according to KenPom. I think these are 2 very similar teams and match up wel against each other. Overs so far after the First Four are 4-0, definitely a switch from previous tournaments. High Point is riding a 14 game win streak into this game and scoring 80+ in 8 of the last 9 games. Purdue has an average defense being top 70 in rating. High Point on the other hand is not great on defense. Purdue isn’t the teams of the past with Edey in the middle so you can score on them.

Xavier -2.5 (-110)

9:10PM: Xavier finished the year 7-1 and that one loss was in the Big East tournament against Marquette. They were leading basically that entire game and ending falling within the last 5 minutes. Texas on the other hand finished the year 3-5. They did put up a good fight in the SEC tournament beating Vandy and A&M before losing to Tennessee. They needed those wins to get into the tournament. Xavier had a harder non conference schedule than Texas but Texas was in the harder conference. I still like Xavier as Texas can falter as we have seen to end the season.

UNC/SDSU under 141.5 (-115)

9:10PM: UNC does not have great defense but has a great offense. SDSU has a great defense but no a great offense. SDSU is getting their big man back from injury and feel like they can control the tempo. In their last 6 games, SDSU has only gone over this number 1 time and have only allowed 70+ points twice in that same run. UNC allowed less than 60 points in 3 of their last 5 games. Those 3 games were against really bad offenses, SDSU is probably better but still not great at offense. I usually lean unders in the early games of the tournament and they have done pretty well so continue the streak.

Memphis/UAB over 157.5 (-115)

3:15PM: Memphis 2 tournament games have gone over pretty easily. Their offense is elite and the defense is not great. UAB has given up 80 points in 3 of the last 4 games. Gonna trust they can keep making shots and have high up tempo offenses.

Florida -3.5 (-110)

3:30PM: Florida is one of the best teams in the country and have been playing well to finish the year. This game against Bama could actually be for the 4th 1 seed. I think the other 3 are locked up. Bama’s offense is really good but their defense is average. I think Florida can take advantage of that. Two really great guards in this game between Michael Clayton and Marcus Sears. Florida is the better all around here and I’m riding with them.

Grand Canyon -8.5 (-105)

11:30PM: There are 2 dominant teams in the WAC, Grand Canyon and Utah Valley. GCU finished 13-3 and Utah Valley finished 15-1. No one else in the conference had double digit wins. Grand Canyon is also one of the darlings of the previous NCAA tournaments. This is a good team and have good team culture. GCU averaged 79 points per game and only allowed 69 per game. Cal Baptist on the other hand only score 71 points per game and allowed close to 70 per game. Their defense isn’t great and their offense is average to below average. Cal Baptist struggled in their game yesterday while GCU crusied to a win. I think this is setting up for a championship match against Utah Valley.
